i understand how lighthearted a title that is given the subject matter. but they could both drop down a couple pegs, ya know?
Hamuska of Yazol, the Nerium "goddess" and Tofilius Reas. the horn is just kind of blocked-in, added it after the hair was mostly inked so it looks ick. and i'm not sure if she's going to hold anything or not, and the dynamics of their entire association/her significance have been under construction inside my head lately.
as it stands and has always stood, - Hamuska becomes Dr. Y (who replaces Grimm) in the future, and works remotely for Eden. - she is responsible for wiping out Toreas/Terry's people including the deaths of his sons, and also his own imprisonment on the two most notable occasions (the really long one and the one below Eden).
not sure how to color it; vector's always protocol but i feel the call of... some other medium. or just throw it on the pile to finish aeons from now.
Wow she does a whole lot to hurt Terry. Is there any conflict between them in the story? I'm liking how Tofilius is looking so far. With the medium.... I'm not sure. You could try more traditional stuff instead of vectoring...watercolor, color pencils, pastels, acrylic..... Or you could go completely weird and do printmaking or something. Though I'm pretty sure thats not what you mean.
i WISH i could still do printing. not since high school-- screen presses and ink are thin on the ground here at Casa Skinella.
there is a bit of conflict, but never anything epic (battle-wise). they have strong calm cocky words when they meet, but i liked when i was putting together some of the history how there is nothing really personal. she's just a prominent member of an organization sworn against his kind-- they'd never met or spoken outside of that context (though i used to have that kind of tacky ex-lovers/allies spin on it). i'm not sure where i'm going with the last time they meet, but it's at the end of the AU sequence and Ka remembers her as Dr. Y from Eden before "Toreas" even recognizes Ka. so it kind becomes up-to-her to resolve things before Hamuska ices him again and makes that whole story arc futile. because of course, like a stupid villain, Hammy divulges her entire history about how she'd trapped Terry before, thinking she's going to win.
so far i think i'm going to have Myrtle somehow appear/be summoned and eat her (since Dr. Y had a part in screwing up that kid's life as well-- I MEAN LOOK AT HER).
all those events would be pretty shocking, considering all of this is basically happening inside Dr. Grimm's computer in a projected reality and Ka and Terry are supposed to be the only "real people" there because they're jacked into it. surprise!
i'm really glad you like Tofilius. and sorry i rambled a bit! this portion is in a very active stage of conception right now...

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
